Set out on the Twin Hills Trek, a two-hour hike through the central highlands. The trail is steady and approachable, taking you through forest patches, open grassland and rising paths that gradually reveal wider views. As you climb, the landscape keeps changing, keeping the walk engaging without feeling demanding.

At the summit, you’re rewarded with a full 360-degree view of the mountains around Kandy. You can spot the Knuckles range in the distance, Adam’s Peak on the horizon and the Victoria Reservoir below. Eagles often circle overhead, adding to the sense of scale. It’s truly a walk that you’ll remember for life.

Head out on a drive through the surrounding highlands. You’ll begin at the estate bungalow and travel in a vintage Series Land Rover, moving past tea gardens, mountain ridges and everyday scenes of local life. Along the way, you learn about Hanthana’s plants, wildlife and stories tied to the land. The route then shifts to a short forest walk, leading you to a beautiful filming location from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

The rock linked to the famous Sankara Stone still sits within the landscape. The journey ends at the Rock Bar, where you pause with a drink, enjoy the valley views and watch for birds or wildlife moving below.
