Every morning, you’re invited to step onto the mat at the open-air, oceanfront yoga shalas, where the salty breeze, warm sun and soothing sound of the Pacific create the perfect setting for movement and meditation. The oceanfront shalas provide the ideal space to unwind, reset and embrace the present.

Here, your holistic host will tailor sessions to fit your needs. Flow through sun salutations, deepen your practice or simply stretch and unwind, all at your own pace. Private sessions for couples, families or kids can be arranged, making yoga an inclusive and joyful part of your stay.

Few moments in nature are as heartwarming and unforgettable as watching baby sea turtles take their first steps toward the ocean. At Playa Viva, you have the rare opportunity to be part of this incredible journey.

Just a short walk down the beach, you’ll find La Tortuga Viva (“The Living Turtle”), a conservation project dedicated to protecting these fragile creatures.

Every night, a dedicated team of local volunteers patrols the beach, carefully relocating vulnerable turtle nests to a protected hatchery. After about 45 days, the eggs hatch and tiny turtles emerge, instinctively drawn to the sea.

You’ll be there to witness this magical moment. You can even hold a baby turtle in your hands, feel its tiny flippers move and watch it make its way across the sand toward the waves.

The release happens either early in the morning or at sunset, the safest times for the hatchlings to avoid predators. As you stand barefoot on the beach, the golden light reflecting off the water, you’ll feel the excitement in the air. With each little turtle scurrying toward the ocean, you’ll experience something magical.
