The famous Jungle Book character Mowgli was a wolf-befriending boy from the tribal village of Pench. Pench Tree Lodge, a wildlife resort in Pench, is the refuge of the au courant, adventurous and eco sensitive ‘Mowgli’. Our well-appointed tree houses and luxury cottages are nestled in the undisturbed 16 hectares of forested area in the small ‘Sarrahiri’ village of Pench Tiger Reserve in the Karmajhiri area. This is the first lodge to be set up in this underdeveloped zone and supports our conservation policy of not overcrowding areas and making them unsustainable with over exposure to tourism.

Experience the Wild on a Jungle Book Cycling Experience

Experience the Wild on a Jungle Book Cycling Experience

The Jungle Book Cycling Experience is an adventurous way to explore the rich biodiversity of central India, covering the Pench and Kanha Tiger Reserves.

This guided cycling expedition takes you through dense forests, open meadows and beautiful villages, offering a close encounter with both nature and local culture.

One of the highlights of this journey is the Rukhad Buffer Sanctuary, an eco-tourism destination full of wildlife. As you pedal through its scenic trails, you might spot animals like spotted deer, langurs, wild boars, and, if lucky, even a leopard or sloth bear.

Birdwatchers can enjoy sightings of vibrant species like the Indian roller, crested serpent eagle, and hornbills.

The cycling tour is designed to be immersive, combining adventure with sustainable travel. In this experience, you’ll cover a mix of dirt roads, forest trails, and village paths, making it both challenging and fun.

Along the way, stops are arranged to interact with local communities, giving you a glimpse into rural life in India. You’ll learn how villagers coexist with the forest, hear stories from the locals, and even taste traditional food.

A key feature of this tour is the mobile-tented camping experience. After a long day of cycling, you’ll unwind under the stars, surrounded by the sounds of the jungle. Evenings by the campfire provide the perfect space to share experiences and reflect on the day’s journey.

The Jungle Book Cycling Experience is a wonderful chance for you to connect with nature, support conservation efforts, and celebrate India’s diverse landscapes and cultures. Isn’t this fun while enjoying the thrill of exploring on two wheels?

Capture Eye-Level Photos from an Underground Hide

Capture Eye-Level Photos from an Underground Hide

Unlike traditional safaris, where movement and distance can be limiting, the Kipling Photography Hide provides a low-impact, immersive experience. Positioned discreetly near a waterhole, it attracts a variety of wildlife, from deer and wild boars to birds and, occasionally, even predators like leopards.

The underground design ensures animals remain unaware of human presence, allowing them to behave naturally. This results in more candid, unfiltered moments, making for exceptional photography.

Built with an ecologically sensitive approach, the hide combines sustainable design with ergonomic considerations. It ensures the comfort and safety of photographers during long hours of observation while minimising human impact on the environment.

One of the biggest advantages of shooting from the hide is the eye-level perspective. Whether capturing the intricate details of a bird’s feathers or the intense gaze of a predator, this viewpoint brings a sense of intimacy and realism to photographs.

The controlled environment also allows photographers to focus on composition, lighting and behaviour without sudden disruptions.

The stillness of a photographic hide in such a setting presents a distinct advantage. Unlike the fleeting perspectives offered from a moving safari vehicle, this fixed vantage point allows for unhurried observation of the surrounding wildlife. One can patiently anticipate the precise moment, the ideal light, and the most compelling composition, ultimately rendering photography in this environment a particularly gratifying pursuit.

For both beginners and professionals, the Kipling Hide offers a one-of-a-kind experience that enhances wildlife photography skills.
