Hacienda Bambusa

You’ll reach the farm on foot or by bicycle with a guide, passing through agricultural areas before meeting the owners who manage the land. During the visit, you’ll see the different stages of cacao production, including harvesting, fermentation and drying techniques used on the farm. Your hosts explain how the process has been maintained across generations and how the crop fits into local agriculture today.

After the tour, you’ll enjoy refreshments and homemade snacks before gathering for an outdoor lunch surrounded by the working farm landscape.

Join a guided coffee tasting session and learn how to evaluate Colombian coffee using the methods employed by baristas and coffee professionals. You’ll sample different coffees while exploring their aroma, flavour, body and finish. During the session, your guide explains how factors such as origin, roasting and brewing influence what you taste in the cup. You are also introduced to brewing techniques including the French press, Chemex and AeroPress, with demonstrations showing how each method affects flavour and texture.

Throughout the experience, you’ll have the opportunity to compare coffees side by side and develop a better understanding of the characteristics that distinguish Colombia’s most recognised coffee-growing regions.

Set out on a guided birdwatching walk through the countryside of Quindío, a region known for its high concentration of bird species. Accompanied by an experienced guide, you’ll explore trails and plantation areas where resident and migratory birds can often be observed throughout the year. Depending on the season, you’ll spot hummingbirds, tanagers, Andean motmots, curlews and many other species found in the region. The activity begins in the early morning when bird activity is typically at its highest.

Along the route, your guide helps identify species by sight and sound, making the experience suitable for both dedicated birdwatchers and first-time visitors interested in local wildlife.
